Why Lisa's perspective matters

Lisa understands prenups from both sides.

She helps couples create agreements before marriage, and she has seen firsthand how expensive, stressful, and uncertain divorce can become when expectations were never clearly defined.

Her approach is rooted in preparation, transparency, and financial clarity. Because a prenup isn't about expecting your marriage to end. It's about entering it with fewer unknowns.

Professionally, and personally

Married, divorced, and married again for over 28 years.

Lisa understands marriage from the inside, not just from across a conference table.

She has been married, divorced, and married again, now 28 years and counting with her husband Lloyd, a wealth and business manager. Which means she knows firsthand what it feels like to choose the wrong partner, what it feels like to choose the right one, and what it actually takes to keep a marriage healthy over decades.

It is also why she has become a go-to on second marriages, where there are children from before, assets each person built separately, and a much clearer sense of what there is to protect.

In her own marriage, the money conversation never stops. Not scheduled meetings, just the ordinary back-and-forth when the bills arrive. A prenup is simply that conversation, written down.

Decisions worth making on purpose

Understand your rights. Then decide, intentionally.

Whether you're protecting a business, managing student loans, planning to become a stay-at-home parent, or simply deciding how you'll handle money together, Lisa believes couples should understand their rights and make those decisions intentionally.

  • Protecting a business you built
  • Student loans and debt you're bringing in
  • Stepping back from work to raise children
  • Deciding how you'll handle money together

Beyond the practice

Savvy Ladies, and the case for financial literacy.

Lisa is Chair of the Board of Savvy Ladies, a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has given women free financial education since 2003.

Stacy Francis started it running workshops out of her New York apartment, after watching her own grandmother stay in an abusive marriage because she did not have the financial knowledge to leave. Its Free Financial Helpline now matches any woman with a pro bono financial advisor for an hour of one-on-one guidance. No cost, no sales pitch, no affiliation with any financial institution. More than 35,000 women have come through its programs.

HelloPrenup and Savvy Ladies work together every year. We co-host free webinars that walk women through what a prenup actually does, what to ask for, and what to watch for, with nothing to buy at the end of it. And Team HelloPrenup ran the Boston Marathon for Savvy Ladies, with every dollar raised going to the organization.

It is the same conviction that runs through Lisa’s practice. She spends her days on complex financial divorces, and the pattern she sees most often is not bad faith. It is one spouse who never had access to the numbers. Financial literacy is exactly what a prenup requires: full disclosure, both people informed, both people deciding on purpose.

“HelloPrenup’s goals of protecting women through financial transparency and greater communication align perfectly with Savvy Ladies’ mission to empower women through financial knowledge.”

Do I need a prenup for a second marriage?

Second marriages are one of the most common reasons couples create a prenup. There are often children from a prior relationship, assets each person built independently, and existing support or estate obligations to account for. Lisa Zeiderman, who has been married, divorced, and married again herself, works extensively with remarrying couples, and HelloPrenup is built to handle blended-family situations.

Do I need a prenup if I'm not wealthy?

Prenups aren't only for celebrities or the ultra-wealthy. They're for couples who want to communicate clearly and enter marriage on the same page, whether that means protecting a business, addressing student loans, planning for a stay-at-home parent, or simply deciding how you'll handle money together.

How much does a HelloPrenup prenup cost?

The average HelloPrenup couple spends under $600, a fraction of what a traditional prenup with an experienced matrimonial attorney can cost. If you'd like to talk it through first, you can book a free consultation.
