Aries (March 21 – April 19)
Known for their adventurous spirit and leadership qualities, Aries are often energetic, competitive, and determined. With this in mind, Aries are often highly successful entrepreneurs. Thus, an Aries may become (or already be) a business owner. Adding in a clause protecting any existing or future business interests may be a good idea for any wise Aries. Without a prenup, your business equity could be divided up and could affect your control over the business. Protecting business interests is crucial for any entrepreneur to make sure their business interests remain intact, even in a divorce.
Taurus (April 20 – May 20)
Taurus individuals are characterized by their practicality and strong determination. They are often reliable, patient, and enjoy luxury and comfort. Given that a Taurus is keen on the finer things in life, a Taurus may want to include a clause stipulating how expenses will flow from a joint bank account. For example, adding in a clause that stipulates exactly how much each person is contributing to a joint bank account and what expenses will be paid from said account. Geminis are social butterflies known for their adaptability and communication skills. They are curious, versatile, and enjoy intellectual stimulation. Given a Gemini’s need for open communication, adding in a clause that stipulates regular financial check-ins with their partner during the marriage is an excellent way to ensure they are living up to their high communication standards. For example, the clause could mandate that the couple regularly checks in with one another on budgets, expenses, spending, and all things money. This could be weekly, monthly, or annually, depending on the couple’s preference.
Cancer (June 21 – July 22)
Cancer individuals are nurturing and deeply intuitive. They are known for their emotional sensitivity, loyalty, and strong connections to home and family. Given that a Cancer has a strong connection to family, the Cancer individual may want to become a stay-at-home parent one day. Let’s face it, Virgos are diligent, and they cover all their bases, including taxes. A Virgo should consider adding in an income tax clause that addresses how the couple will file taxes during the marriage, who will file them, the release of liability for one another, tax planning in the event of a divorce, etc.
Libra (September 23 – October 22)
Libras are known for their diplomatic nature and love for balance. They are social, charming, and value harmony in relationships. Considering a Libra’s social nature, including a social media image clause may be a good idea to address. A social media image clause prohibits either spouse from posting disparaging content about their partner online. This includes any photos, videos, or information that may be embarrassing, harmful, or disrespectful. The consequence of posting something harmful is for the person who posted it to pay the other partner a lump sum of money.
Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)
Scorpios are intense and passionate individuals with a mysterious aura. They are determined, resourceful, and value deep connections. Given a Scorpio’s mysteriousness, they may want to continue to maintain that aura with a confidentiality clause. A confidentiality clause in a prenup says that neither party will share information about the other person while married or in the event of a divorce. This may include personal information, financial information, or information about the prenup itself.
Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)
Sagittarians are adventurous and optimistic individuals with a love for freedom and exploration. They are open-minded, enthusiastic, and philosophical.
